BILBAO

Bilbao, the core of Basque country, is an industrial port city in northern Spain that has gone through an extensive cultural transition and renewal the last twenty years. The streets are an interesting mix of traditional architecture and contemporary facades; its green spaces, rivers, and bridges give the city, populated by nearly 350,000, a quaint and intimate feel. There is a constant bustle of locals and tourists in the streets - energy and excitement that you want to be a part of. Bilbao is most known for its food from pintxos bars to fine dining, but what visitors don’t know is that Spain has a passion for the arts and a rich history of creativity.
Set aside four days to discover these favorite spots, and more, to get a taste of what Bilbao is really about. We will help you find, explore and learn all about arts and culture around town. Bilbao is very walkable, so put your comfy shoes on and get going!
AAT-TIP: Keep in mind that Bilbao operates on Spanish (siesta) time. Businesses hours are often 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and then again 5 - 8 p.m. This allows you to do things into the evening hours; however, plan accordingly so you don't end up somewhere that is closed mid-day.
